About ESI
What is ESI 2013?
ESI 2013 is an international non-competitive event, where young participants from all around the world can showcase their scientific projects.
When is ESI 2013?
ESI 2013 will take place from Sep 13 to Sep 19, 2013.
When will ESI 2013 be open to Public?
ESI 2013 will be open on Sep 15, 16 and 17, 2013.
Where it will be held?
The Expo Science International 2013 will be held in Abu Dhabi – Capital of the UAE at ADNEC halls 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Can I come to ESI 2013 as a visitor?
You are most welcome to visit ESI 2013. For local schools, please visit

What is there to win at ESI 2013?
ESI 2013 is a non-competitive event so there is no official ranking or prizes. However, some awards are given to the participants, the volunteers, the organizations or individuals. Please visit our

Participation and Registration
How can I participate?
The projects showcased at ESI 2013 are selected by National Organizations. In order to participate you must contact one of the organizations on
this list
and ask for accreditation of your project (be aware that some organizations have already done their selection and that contacting one organization will not guarantee you participation). UAE Schools and Students can visit

What is the deadline for participationare the different deadlines?
The project submission deadline is set to July 10, 2013. By this date, all projects should be submitted with accurate abstract. 2-6 pages Project Papers should be submitted before August 10, 2013.
I received an accreditation for ESI 2013 in my national/regional Science Fair. How can I register?
You must contact the organizers of the fair that gave you the accreditation for ESI 2013. They are the ones that will register you on the system.
I can’t find an organization in my country; can I register as an individual?
Sadly, no. You must register through an organization to participate in ESI 2013.

Can I register participants to ESI 2013?
If you are not a member of MILSET, you must have the approval of your MILSET Regional Office. Please follow
this procedure

My organization is on the list or has been approved by MILSET. How can I add participants?
You must follow
this procedure
and register participants through our online registration system.
What are the fees participants should pay?
Registration fees are as follow:
- Representative of the organization (1 max): 250 euros.
- Students: 250 euros.
- Supervisors inside a limit of 1 supervisor for 4 students: 250 euros.
- Extra supervisors outside of the mentioned limit: 400 euros (maximum 2 extra supervisors per delegation. Contact
info@esi2013.milset.org
for specific and motivated requests).
This will cover accommodation, transportation, food and some of the tours proposed during the stay. Any other cost will be the responsibility of participants.
What is the expected number of participants per project?
The ESI 2013 booths have been designed to host projects with 3 or 4 students. In case your project is presented by one or two people, you might share a booth with another project in your category. Please see our

page for more information.
What are the requirements to present a project?
Every project should be presented in English. Other languages are optional and most welcome, but English is mandatory. An abstract and a full project paper will be required. See our

When will I know if my project is approved?
The organizations that register the projects are responsible for the selection of the projects. They are the ones that approve your project as reflecting the quality of their whole organization. We will however review your papers to double check that your projects are scientific projects in one of
the ESI 2013 categories
, and that you meet
the requirements
to showcase your project.
Stay, Schedule and Visa
How can I apply for a UAE Visa?
The Visa application will be done through an online system. In order to get your 14 days visit Visa you will need:
1.
Your passport
2.
A scan of your passport photo page in high resolution
3.
A scan of a passport style photo in high resolution
4.
Your flight information and dates of travel
5.
An online payment of 166 USD if you arrive at Abu Dhabi Airport (186 USD for Dubai Airport).
To receive your visa on time, your application must be completed 20 days prior to the date of entry. Visa applications are subject to immigration policy and procedure and the United Arab Emirates Government laws, the organizers are not held responsible should your visa application be rejected. Which Airport should I choose to arrive in?
Transfer from and to Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) will be arranged on a very regular basis. Transfer from and to Dubai International Airport (DXB) can be arranged upon request. Please contact

Which Hotels will my delegation stay in?
The accommodation will be done in 3*** hotels surrounding the ADNEC site. Transfers will be arranged between the hotels and the exhibition hall. The Delegations will be contacted with the details of their hotels after the closing of registration (extended date : July 20, 2013).
